ESS achieve CIPP Scheme Accreditation

As part of our dedication to delivering first-class services, we are proud to announce that our Employment Support Service (ESS) has achieved accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) Payroll Accreditation Scheme (PAS).

This accreditation has been developed by the CIPP in conjunction with HRMC and is a much-coveted award in the payroll industry. The rigorous assessment process for the award focuses on the organisations procedures to ensure they are robust and compliant, checks that controls are in place to reduce the potential for errors and ensures suitable processes are in place to plan for legislative changes.

ESS has achieved the accreditation over the last few months by undertaking the CIPP assessment process. This included the provision of detailed documentation which outlined all of their payroll processes and practices. The service then had to undertake a further rigorous assessment/interview processes where they spent a whole day answering questions and explaining their processes and how they process and manage the payroll service.

This prestigious gold standard accreditation recognises the team as payroll professionals, and demonstrates the value of the payroll service to other organisations and our current and future customers. It shows that ESS is operating at the very highest standards required and that their processes, practices and payroll procedures are compliant with CIPP standards and best practice.

Kirstie Paterson, Head of Employment Support Service commented:

“This is fantastic news for the service and we are all really proud of the achievement. It is a real testament to the team for all of their hard work and demonstrates to our customers that we are dedicated to best practice and ensuring we have a high performing service”.

The CIPP Assessment Team stated:

“The ESS team at North Yorkshire County Council were very well prepared and supplied an excellent raft of documents and information to allow us to do this assessment. Very knowledgeable and some excellent processes in place”.
