Kristina set up the NYES Energy and Carbon team in 2008 and has been managing it ever since. This service supports schools to identify and develop opportunities for greater efficiencies through technology, systems or behaviour, which Kristina oversees.
Well experienced, Kristina has been working in the environmental/sustainability area of local government since 1992. Originally, she was a Planner (handling mainly trees and landscape matters) in London and Cambridge, and also worked as an Officer for the Countryside Agency at the time of the foot and mouth crisis and as a Sustainability Officer/Manager in York (part of the project team that developed the EcoDepot the largest straw bale building in Europe at time of completion in 2007).
Interestingly, Kristina started her working life as a zoo keeper. She’s also part of a growing band of people who love (some would say are obsessed with) swimming outside in lakes, rivers, ponds, the sea and puddles.
