Carol-Ann trained as a Speech and Language Therapist over 20 years ago. During her 13 year career in the NHS she had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of client groups across adult and paediatric services, in hospitals, early years and community settings, mainstream and special schools.

She then moved to North Yorkshire County Council, where she was initially employed not in a clinical role, but as Specialist Lead for Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and since January 2018 as Head of Inclusion Support Services.

During this time she has undertaken a variety of consultancy roles, including Lead Guidance Developer for the SEND reforms for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and critical incident lead investigator for the NHS.
