Simon is the Product Development Manager at NYES. His aim is to design and develop brilliant services that meet customer needs.
An active member of the service design community, Simon has joined NYES from the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP where he was responsible for setting up How’s Business, a service to support small and micro businesses to make incremental improvements that would develop their business.
Prior to this, his achievements include running the marketing for a series of award winning Popup Business Cafes that were cited as best practice by government. In addition, he has also worked across a number of journalism roles covering print, digital and video platforms. This included being responsible for moving a number of magazines from a print to digital service.
Outside of work, Simon is a keen storyteller, published writer and poet, telling stories through the written word, performance art and photography. He has most recently finished a personal project photographing the deer of Studley Royal Deer Park throughout the year and has spoken at the International Service Design in Government Conference on how to take services from concepts to successful delivery.
