Healthy Eating Poem Competition

Healthy Eating Poem Competition

North Yorkshire Catering is excited to announce our Healthy Eating Poem Competition! We want your pupils to get creative and write a poem about healthy eating.

Brief

We want pupils to set their creative minds free, and write a poem about healthy eating – you can be as adventurous with this task as you like (even a few drawings and handwritten would be lovely)! We hope this will be a great challenge to dig into whilst being at home, and maybe even inspire you to choose a healthy snack whilst writing your poem!

We’ve even enlisted the help of Miss Nuttall – a Year 1 Teacher from Norton Primary School, Malton, North Yorkshire, to help judge along with our two in-house judges. Miss Nuttall loves pupils getting creative, being imaginative, and ultimately having fun; she can’t wait to read all of your fantastic poems!

There are some exciting prizes to be won – including a Book of Poems and Scrabble Board Game!

We will also share a couple of healthy (but very tasty!) recipes to help aid with the healthy eating creative mind flow!

How to enter

Simply email a photo of your poem to: charlotte.firth@northyorks.gov.uk

Please include the pupil’s name, age, and details of the school they attend. You are able to name the poem something different to Healthy Eating, but this must still be the main focus.

Please can you limit the number of lines to a maximum of 20 lines per poem, and one poem per pupil.

Deadline: 20:00 on Saturday 23rd January 2021

The winners will be announced on Monday 8th February 2021 and the winning poems will be published on our website and social media.
